The swamplands, rivers, and estuaries across the globe shelter one of the planet's largest, most formidable, and enigmatic predators. The Saltwater crocodile (Crocodylus porosus) claims the title of the world's largest living reptile species, reaching lengths of up to 6 meters and weighing up to a ton. Often referred to as 'salties', these crocs are a pinnacle of evolutionary prowess.

When pursuing prey, they adopt a patient strategy – partially submerged or completely underwater, their heart rate slows to 2-3 beats per minute, enabling them to hold their breath for an astonishing hour. Unique transparent eyelids aid their underwater vision, and their forward-facing eyes empower them to expertly gauge the distance to unsuspecting prey.

These specimens hail from farmed crocodiles raised for their prized skin and meat, with the skulls being a valuable byproduct that would otherwise go to waste. Farmed crocodiles typically measure between 1.8 and 2.2 meters in length. To roughly estimate the crocodile's full length, one can multiply the skull's length by 7.4.
